Art Deco Room: This
room is the largest room
in the House measuring
210 square feet. It has
exquisite views over the
Estate, down Caversham
Valley beyond Carisbrook
and the City to Otago
Harbor and the
surrounding hills. It
has the sun from mid
morning until sunset.
The bathroom has views
down the Otago Harbor
all the way to
Portobello on the
Peninsula and to Port
Chalmers on the West
side of the harbor.
Egyptian Room:
The Egyptian Room is the
old master bedroom of
the 1863 part of the
House and features a
very large king-sized
bed and Egyptian/African
themes. The view from
the bed encompasses
Mount Flagstaff, down
town Dunedin and various
suburbs, Carisbrook,
Mount Cargill and Otago
Harbor and Peninsula, to
name but a few features
of this grand vista. The
bathroom has been
finished to the highest
standards and has under
tile heating and a
separate toilet and
bidet.
French Room: The
French Room overlooks
the Rose Garden and
forest beyond. It has
been decorated in fresh
yellow colors and
features a king-sized
four poster bed and
antique English
fireplace. The Room
itself is in the new
(1907) part of the
House; the en suite
bathroom, with the same
color décor, is in the
old (1863) part. Both
the bedroom and the
bathroom get all the
morning sun and views of
the rose garden,
Conservatory and
orchard.
Indian Room: The
Indian Room is special
in that the black and
gold bath is situated on
a dais in the bedroom
itself. A hand painted
screen is provided for
the more modest guest.
The room is decorated
with Indian motifs in
exotic greens, reds and
gold; the bed is
canopied in luxurious
swags of fabric in these
colors. Dainty antique
chairs and a writing
desk offset the solid
brass elephant which
graces the apartment.
The black and white
tiled en suite bathroom
has a separate shower,
bidet, toilet and hand
basin.
Japanese Room:
Tastefully decorated in
a Japanese theme with
very soothing colors;
this room uses the basic
principles of Japanese
simplicity to create an
atmosphere of peace and
tranquility. From the
king-size bed there is a
view over the gardens
towards the fountain and
the giant Sequoia tree
beyond. The bathroom has
a large splashing area
with separate bath, a
hand shower and a
waterfall shower pouring
water straight down from
the ceiling. Like all
our bathrooms, there is
under-floor heating, a
stylish hand basin, a
bidet and a heated towel
rail.
Moroccan Room:
This room has one double
and one single bed and a
private bathroom just
across the corridor. The
decor is in rich orange,
blue and Burgundy,

with a number of
fabulous carpets on the
floor and walls. The
bathroom features an
extraordinary spiral
hand basin pedestal
which is echoed in the
hand painted motifs on
the walls.
Scandinavian Room:
The Scandinavian
Room has been decorated
in a variety of blue
colors. The room
features an antique
European pine writing
cabinet and a king-sized
two poster bed. The
Scandinavian Room offers
extensive vistas of the

Otago Harbor, Carisbrook
stadium, Dunedin City
and the mountains
beyond. Through the side
windows it has a
stunning view on the
rose garden and the Fern
Valley to the East of
the House.

The Scottish Room is
located on the ground
floor overlooking our
gardens, the harbor and
the city. This sunny
room is lavishly

large comfortable
settee. The room has a
large king-size bed, a
large-screen television
and a video. The

the most luxurious
bathrooms in the House
including a double

from the United Kingdom
and European chandelier
lighting. In the second
